A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Know your lock.

Do I need to type my Windows password every time?

The Trust Auth sign-in flow uses your phone approval. During setup, Windows Lock verifies your Windows password and stores it encrypted on the machine to complete Windows authentication after approval. It is not sent to Trust Auth.

What happens without a network connection?

Configure your profile offline password and sync it to the device first. Windows Lock permits this password only when no active network interface is available. A server timeout while connected does not enable offline unlock.

Does this replace every other sign-in method?

No. Windows password and Hello remain available for recovery. Browser extensions can be removed by someone with browser or system access. Trust Auth adds an approval-based access option.

Why does Windows show a download warning?

The current installer is unsigned. Publisher details inside setup are not a digital signature, and Windows may show an unknown-publisher or SmartScreen reputation warning.
